Next in our desert series trips is a trail north of Borrego Springs, where we'll be heading into the mouth of Coyote Canyon. This is a well traveled horse trail that extends along the broad wash where running water provides hydration to the valley through the driest years. I'm selecting this trail as opposed to the other, more popular trails around Borrego Springs such as the Hendersen Canyon wildflower fields. Many areas have become the victims such success, as traffic and vandalism have trodden down fields and are now covered in weeds.
